Milton Lauenstein, who holds an undergraduate degree from Purdue University and an MBA from the University of Chicago, is the former president of Lauenstein & Associates, Inc. He was an adjunct professor in the College of Business Administration at Northeastern University; taught business policy at the University of Chicago; wrote a book on corporate strategy titled What’s Your Game Plan?; was a contributing contributing editor for the Journal of Business Strategy; and served as chairman of the Democratic Town Committee in Wenham, Massachusetts.

Lauenstein has been a director of more than a dozen companies and has sat on more than fifteen boards of directors. Among his more prominent positions were: director of the Alliance for International Conflict Resolution and Prevention; director of Associated Industries of Massachusetts; president of the International Business Center of New England; president and CEO of Ventron Corporation; governing board member of the Before Project, which seeks to “prevent the devastation of violent conflict in fragile states”; executive committee member of the Japan Society of Boston; and trustee of the Vermont Studio Center, the largest international artists' and writers' residency program in the United States.

Lauenstein is currently a member of the Peace and Security Funders Group, an association of foundations, charitable trusts, and philanthropists who "make grants or expenditures that contribute to peace and global security."
