- Regional director of the Global Relief Foundation
Nabil Sayadi was the Director of the European branch of the Global Relief Foundation (GRF), known by its French translation Fondation Secours Mondiale. Sayadi opened the office in 1995. His wife, Patricia Vinck, a Belgian convert to Islam, served as Secretary of the organization.
Both Sayadi and his wife were placed on the United States and United Nations global terrorism lists because of their numerous ties to al Qaeda.
Muhammed Galeb Kalaje Zouaydi and Mamoun Darkazanli, two Syrians who were indicted in Spain for being al Qaeda financiers, were said to have transferred hundreds of thousands of dollars to GRF via Sayadi. Sayadi calls Zouaydi a “good friend.”
Wadih El-Hage (a.k.a. “Abdal S’abur” and “the Manager”) was a personal secretary to Osama bin Laden and was convicted in the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in East Africa. El-Hage is currently serving a life sentence for the bombings and the murders of 224 people. Spanish authorities described Sayadi and El-Hage, who were in contact with each other between the years 1995 and 2001, as being “tight collaborators.”
